Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Branqo, a desktop Git management application, and the associated website and services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Branqo ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

Branqo is a cross-platform desktop application for Git repository management. It provides a graphical interface for Git operations, an AI-powered assistant for commit messages, code review, and conflict resolution. Branqo supports multiple Git hosting providers including GitHub, GitLab, and Gitea. The Service also includes the Branqo website, user accounts, and subscription management.

2. Account Terms

  • Age requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to create a Branqo account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or legal guardian's permission to use the Service.
  • Accurate information: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account. You agree to update your information to keep it accurate.
  • Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
  • One person per account: Accounts are for individual use. You may not share your account credentials with others.

3. Free Tier

The Free tier of Branqo includes all core Git operations and does not require an account. The Free tier is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Free tier at any time. The Free tier has no guaranteed uptime, support, or service level agreement.

4. Premium Tier & Billing

  • Subscription: Premium is a recurring subscription billed monthly ($4.99/month) or annually ($49.99/year). Prices are in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes.
  • Billing: All payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. We never see or store your credit card number.
  • Free trial: New Premium subscribers may receive a 14-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, you will be asked to subscribe or your account will revert to the Free tier. Trial features require active internet connectivity and are not available offline.
  • Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Upon cancellation, you retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing cycle.
  • Price changes: We will notify you at least 30 days in advance of any price changes. If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel before the change takes effect.
  • Internet connectivity: Premium features require periodic internet connectivity for subscription verification. The desktop application will continue to provide Premium features for a limited grace period (up to 7 days) without internet access. After this period, Premium features will be unavailable until connectivity is restored and your subscription is verified. Core Git operations (Free tier) are always available offline.

5. AI Features

Premium subscribers have access to AI-powered features including commit message generation, code review, merge conflict resolution, and merge descriptions. When using these features:

  • Code context (diffs) is sent to our AI proxy server for processing by a third-party LLM provider.
  • The Secret Scanner redacts sensitive data (API keys, tokens, passwords) before transmission.
  • Code context is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers or by our LLM providers.
  • AI-generated content (commit messages, reviews) is provided as suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting any AI-generated content before using it.
  • AI features are subject to a weekly usage budget. Usage resets every Monday. Details are available in your dashboard.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Branqo application or Service.
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to scrape, crawl, or interact with the Service in a manner that exceeds normal human usage.
  • Attempt to circumvent the AI usage budget, rate limits, subscription verification, offline grace periods, or any other technical restrictions.
  • Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Interfere with the security, integrity, or availability of the Service.
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Branqo application or any part of the Service.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of your account without notice or refund.

7. Intellectual Property

Branqo is proprietary software. The Branqo application, website, documentation, and all associated branding, logos, and content are the intellectual property of Branqo and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your code, repositories, and data remain your property. We claim no ownership or license over the code you manage with Branqo. Nothing in these Terms grants us any rights to your intellectual property.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Branqo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not liable for any data loss resulting from the use of Branqo. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your repositories.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings. If you have an active Premium subscription, you must cancel it before deleting your account. Account deletion is immediate and permanent — all personal data is irreversibly removed. Upon termination, your right to use Premium features ceases immediately. The Free tier of the desktop application will continue to function without an account. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, and Governing Law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes will be submitted to binding arbitration.

These Terms are provided in multiple languages for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email (if you have an account) and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
